ABOUT FABIO
From NetWare Roots to AI-Powered IAM: A Journey of Identity Innovation
Fabio Sobiecki's career in technology began over two decades ago in Londrina, Brazil, sparked by an early interest in network infrastructure. His initial foray into Novell NetWare laid the foundation for a deep understanding of network services and eventually led him to the burgeoning world of identity and access management.
Recognizing the global potential of technical expertise, Fabio earned his Certified Novell Administrator credential, marking the first step in an internationally focused career.
His journey continued with the rise of Linux and a move to Curitiba, where he supported enterprise clients and encountered the early concepts of access management through Novell iChain and eDirectory. This pivotal experience led to a consulting role with Novell in Brasília and later São José dos Campos, solidifying his expertise in IAM solutions like DirXML.
In 2007, Fabio's career took him to London, working with a Novell reseller and gaining invaluable international experience. Upon his return to Brazil and Novell, he became a Senior Engineer, navigating the emergence of PAM, role mining, and governance solutions.
His expertise continued to evolve when he moved to Computer Associates in 2010, where he worked with key IAM technologies like SiteMinder and IdentityMinder. In 2013, he joined IBM Security, broadening his horizons to encompass data security, cloud security, and security operations while contributing to their global IAM team based in the United States between 2015 and 2017.
